Smyths for trade ins?

Anyone trade games inw ith Smyths? How do they rate? I'm gonna get rid of a couple of things.

If ye trade in 4 PS2 games worth 7 or more, you get one full price game free [any console]

they dont do console trade-ins though, only ps2, ps3, 360, DS, and wii games

[no Gc, PS1, PC or Xbox]

Thanks i'll go see what the deal is. I don't really fancy 4 PS3 games for one new PS3 game...but maybe it's different for PS3.

Traded in Assasins Creed, Uncharted, COD3 and Ridge Racer. Got 92 in store credit which is fair enough I suppose. I didn't get a break-down of what was worth what but I know COD3 and Ridge Racer were worth feck all. Got Smackdown and the rest in vouchers.

ya should of went to gamestop they have an offer ya trade in two ps3 games for a new one and in smiths ya have to add a tenner for the same deal

Just to follow up on the last post. I traded in Virtual Tennis and Ninja Gaiden for Unchartered (€69.99 new). The trade-in value of Virtual Tennis was €19 and Ninja Gaiden was €21. Not a bad deal.

yeah most of the time when i trade in games the value of the 2 games might only add up to 34 euro

Oh and whats this about us games?cant trade them in no?i have a foreign uncharted.
in response to that though,I bought a second hand skate online from hong kong,then bought a new one for €70 in virgin.I returned the second hand game to virgin with my receipt and got €70 euro back in cash.They were VERY confused for a while and were apologising saying that their machine was broken.NICE ONE!!!

yeah i got rid of ridge racer and resistance for assasins creed and i'm planning on swapping assassins and the simpsons for something on friday, i'm thinking i'll give oblivion a go though i'm not sure. the gamestop offer is great for getting rid of those games that once you've finished you won't play again. (i know resistance is played a lot online but i don't have my ps3 online yet and i also have COD4)

ya seen that deal...BUT you could only get certain games with it.... and most were un-appealing to say the least!!(that was the case here in galway a mth or 2 ago anyway).

i shop with GAME, overall they offer the best value... you get €2.50 on your card for every game purchase i have about €15 to use in there now, also they gave me €30-35 trade-in on ''Knockout kings 3''...i was shocked as that game has been out since the start of the PS3!!.

nope...but thats what xtra-vision is for..... just go in there an rob the boxes(some might even have the books or just try pick up the boxes elsewhere)

Shops in Ireland are not allowed sell games that come from America because they are not rated by PEGI.

I wonder would they give an xbox 360 game for the 4 ps2 games. Surely makes no difference to them but I would say they wouldn't. The offer says 4 ps2 games with a value of 14.99 or more. That is very few ps2 games really.

You get €2.50 per game but aren't the games usually €5-€10 dearer than Xtravision, Tescos, etc?

In my local Gamestop they have a few US Ridge Racer 7's for resale, and a Hong Kong version of The Godfather..

i want to give around 4 cds,some are DVDs and others are PS2 ,I was wondering if I would alot if I give them to the store.
I went to xtravision and each game was 50 cent each.I want a store that would take them for at least 2 euro for a game or DVD in south dublin

Omg buddy you got ripped off badly! Uncharted for 70 euros!!! The game is platinum and sells new for 30 euros! In fact they probably should have had a platinum copy in the store! Seriously! 70 euros?

I can verifiy this. I did work experience in a gamestop in swords and they had several american ridge racer games for used sale! Maybe they didnt pay attention and just though it was an alternative game cover

no, but xtravision will take them (depending on the staff member)

Not at that time - most top titles especially Sonys own were RRP'd for €69.99. Titles as recently as Killzone 2 this year were RRP'd at the same.
