Seconded, its the first time in a few years the best two players got to the final. i.e No hard luckk stories along the way, the two best, were the most consistent and made it to the Final, either would have been a worthy winner, and it certaintly was a final to remember!! Wish the BOTH of them all the best for the future!

Have to say i thought nothing would top that match between Adams and Thornton but tonights match totally eclipsed that. The BDO standard in my opinion has shot through the roof this year. One thing i must say is that there is no monopoly's in that organisation. the amount of 180's thrown tonight was incredible. The sky darts in fairness has become more competitive the last two years with Part and Van Barnevald winning it and young sheppard making the final, but for me the BBC darts is where it is all happening at the moment

I agree, top quality final & semis too. Def beat the PDC for quality this year. The likes of Sheppard would never have made the BDO final.
Anyone know if the 2 winners are playing each other this year?
Or is all that finished after big Andys collapse 2 years ago?!

The thing here is the PDC and BDO seem to enjoy their rivarly, however at the top level i.e. the finals, there isnt that much between them. Phil Taylor aside (well maybe not this day and age) Everyone goes on that the PDC is better, but if you ask me that is only because there is more coverage of the PDC players through Sky. Sure i'll challenge anyone to name me 10 players playing in the PDC who never played in the BDO!!

Far as i know 2004 was the only year that happened but for a number of reasons it didn't take off since. i suppose Taylors monopoly at the time (through no fault of taylor i might add) didn't encourage it as well as the difficulties the last time. I think we may see a return this year

As for big Andy, jesus check him out now he's wasting away lol! fair play to him.

its become way more open in recent times in the PDC, to be fair if half the players in the PDC were in the BDO, none of the players currently at prominance in the BDO would even make the tournaments, i think this years PDC quality was less, but over the course of years, the PDC's quality has been constant and by far superior, everyone seems to start BDO and move PDC when its time to make a career out of it. the money is in the PDC to live off darts which is amazing position to be in.

only the top players in the BDO will be able to live off it, even webster has a full time job.

however i expect a whopper PDC year, Jenkins will only get better, taylor and barney to fade a little but still be forces, lewis to up his game a bit, wade to get even better (citéog the 2 of us), part has been consistent, van der voort and jelle klassen and van gerwen all will be better this year, osbourne and hamilton lloyd and mcgowan. it will be a class year of darts

the reason the 2 players dont play each other any more is because barry hearn wanted total control of it so it became a no-go.

I do agree that the BDo has a better stanbdard than is made out, that is down to Sky marketing making us all think that the PDC is where all the best players are. \the BDo is basically a breeding ground for the PDC, the best players start there and switch over. The BDO run all the youth tournaments etc whereas the PDC pretty much just have the senior.

There are good players in the BDO, its just sad that it is such a poorly run organisation.
