ok. so i have a panasonic digibox about 5 years old. in the last few days its beginning to flicker after an hour or so until it virtually starts to give a black screen. i checked all the leads etc scart and they all intact. my other box in the kitchen is fine so i am thinking that its the start of box about to die.

anyone got any ideas? and if it does go should i not bother repairing it and get a new one or one from ebay?

I think the tuners only last about 5 years or so, you could be buying a new one...

After 5 years and it gives up, get a new one, repairs would only cost you as much.

ok i tried another digibox i got a loan of. same thing happened after 2 hours. i tried switching to the second scart connection on the tv and all is fine so far. so looks like it was the tv scart connection thats starting to play up. working fine now on the alternative scart connection with the same scart lead and original digibox. good thing i didnt buy a new box.
