Can I sell buy-in to PokerStars Sunday Million?

I just played an $8 satellite tournament on PokerStars for the craic and was surprised to qualify - it gets me a buy-in to the Sunday Million that starts at 21:30 tonight.

The buy-in is worth $200 plus a $15 reg fee....tis a bummer though cos the girlfriend has just bought cinemas tickets for 9pm. Is it possible for me to sell the buy-in either back to PokerStars or to another player?

No chance unless you get someone to play for you.

Bummer, but thanks for letting me know.

Don't have someone to play for me so reckon I'll just head to the cinema - wouldn't be too confident of doing well in that tourney so might have to just give it a miss. Lesson learned I guess

I'm not sure, but I think on Stars you can unregister, get T$ and use them to buy in another week or in other tournies on stars. Alternatively, I think you can sell T$.

Yeah, I always thought that you could unregister and get tournament dollars. Try to unregister and see what happens.

    That's feckin sweet - nice one :D

I had seen the Unregister option but was wary of using it in case it was to lose me the buy-in. I unregistered and yep I know have $215 of tournament dollars and tested it by registering and unregistering for another tournament and all went as expected.

So win - win, I get to keep the missus happy and turned $8 into $215 which by my standards is a pretty damn successful day!

You can sell it on 2+2 for $213 if you want to increase your roll.

How easy / transparent / trustworthy is the process of selling T$ on Stars? I got T$190 but probably will sell it at some stage. I could get about $180, right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

100%. Stars look after the transfer for you, Just go to requests and then trade T$ as opposed to just transferring the funds. For T$190 you can get $188 and accept no less. Just sell it here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=1282 and you'll get 5 pm's within 2 mins of posting.

that'd be sweet to convert the tourney dollars to cash to beef the bankroll (started at $100 and its up to $539 plus the $215 tourney dollars so by my standards this is boomtime :)) .....now how much are them dolls? My mate just got dumped from a height so I'd say he'd easily fork out a few quid to rent her off me...pimping love dolls, ah if only my career counsellor from my school days could see me now.

I'll have a look at doing that transfer tonight and post how I get on so others know if its handy or not.

Can the tourney dollars be used for STTs or normal MTTs or is it only games in the Tournament section that they can be used for?
I usually play $0.25/$0.40 NL 6-max ring games and find that best suits my game, but used do fairly well in 6-max STTs when I played them so might use the tourney dollars to get back into them.

If you sell them you won't have any T$ left though so you can't use them for sng's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,032 ✭✭✭FrankGrimes

yeh, I should've been clearer - if I knew I could use the T$ for SNGs, I wouldn't sell them unless I was getting close to 99% of the value of the T$.

So - sounds like I can use them for SNGs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭ionapaul

Yep, seems like you can use T$ for all tournies AND SNGs. Nice work BTW!

Nice one for the tip lads - just posted on that 2+2 thread and I had it sold within 5 minutes....that gets me that little bit closer to affording one of them dolls...

I probably set my sights a bit low in asking for $212.50 for the $215, so next time will go a bit higher - nice to know that option is there.

Do those lads just stay on there buying loads of dollars up to make a few quid even at such tight margins?
