New Coffee Machine - Your fav Brew of Coffee?

I have to say I love my coffee, and for the past while at home there has only been an Espresso Machine. Tbh I dont like espresso, cappucino or lattes. So last weekend I went out and bought a plain Krups Percolator.

Damn its good to have real coffee back, my fave coffee is Douwe Egberts Dark Roast, being from Holland I have been brought up on this coffee. For about 4 cups I put about 3 heap spoons of the coffee into the filter along with something the dutch use called burnt sugar it enhances the coffee in some way, then the coffee comes out like thick black tar hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Love the stuff.

So then whats your fave brew of coffee / machine to make the stuff?

as a student of limited finances, i enjoy the contents of a six cup moka pot with a dash of milk. i love espresso, but my 2 & 3 cup mokas are in sligo

Again, a girl with a limited budget! i use my 3 cup bodum columbia french press, just perfect for a nice big mug of Coffee with just a wee dash of milk.

At the moment I'm using a tin of Illy - might try the dark Douwe egberts now though! I use 3 scoops per mug.

I saw the title of this thread and was going to say the exact same!

It's quite hard to get here. I've even bought and ground my own beans and it wasn't as good as DE DR.

Tbh its great stuff, but then again maybe I am biased. Imo I know I have good strong cup of coffee if I add some milk and it still looks black .

that 'burnt sugar' sounds interesting, what is it and can you get it here? also it is easy enough to get douwe egberts dark roast here?

I generally buy my Dark Roast Douwe Egberts in Tesco, and for the burnt sugar its something I bring back from the netherlands.

Espresso. Plain and simple. I love cuban coffees also. I haveuse a Gaggia Classic.

I can see why some people don't like espresso based drinks - but a percolator? Are you sure you bought a percolator? Because they are just about the worst method to make coffee. Kind of like stewing coffee.

I didn't even think Krups made a percolator.
