    I ordered a Sony W960 phone. Does anyone know if nokias gizmo (simmilar to skype) will work on it UIQ platform

    Couldn't say but fring will quite happily work with the W960. See fring.com for more.

    Thanks. Had not heard of fring before. It supports the w960 alright so will check it out.

    Gizmo isn't Nokia's project, its actually by a company named sipphone. Fring supports the Gizmo service as it does for MSN, ICQ, GTalk and now Yahoo and AIM too. Definitely the application of the year.

    Gizmo also offer a java app (Gizmo 5) that should run on any Java compatible modern phone.
