JBL Creature II Speakers available in Currys Liffey Valley. Last stock (hence the ".98" on the price). Compatible with anything that has a 3.5mm jack and I THINK with phonos also. Review below:

Note they are primarily aimed at PCs or anything you're sitting close to. The ones I saw were Grey, as opposed to Red/White/Black available elsewhere. Amazon had them for about 85 euro.

I had a demo of the older version of these in Harvey Normans about 18 months ago and was blown away by the quality from something so small. Don't underestimate them, they're very good.

I had thought they were supposed to be excellent but, looking at some user reviews on amazon, a lot of people mention that the satellites sound tinny and the whole package lacks midrange.

Anyway, not to hijack it, but this thread got me thinking about how much more it would cost me to go 5.1. As a result I found a keenly priced desktop surround sound solution for €54.45 on elara.ie if anyone's interested. It's an OEM version of the Creative Inspire T6100.

I don't like them speakers ,no treble sound at all. Typical pc 2.1

They do look nice ,so do ear rings .

I had trouble with them speakers ,the right speaker has the in-built amp and supplies the left speaker.
The left speaker didn't have the same power as the right one ,I'm a bit paticular with sound stuff ,maybe other people wouldn't notice though

These type of speakers are definetly better for general pc use though ,the treble is far better.

The JBL Creature II speakers are actually €70 in the Airside branch of PC World. They do, however, have the Creative T20 speakers for €80.

Went into PC World in Cork today to pick up a pair of T20s but they were out of stock although still on display at €79.99. Popped into Harvey Norman and they agreed to price match PC World (labelled at €99.99)! So €65 with cashback as stated above. BTW PC World also had the Creature II speakers - cool looking but they're bloody tiny!
