Sky+ Blue Screen of Death?!

    Hi,

I disconnected my Sky+ box for the night, in preparation for putting it in a new unit. I've now reconnected everything, and plugged it back in. I left it for a few minutes before pressing the Sky button on the remote. That took it out of standby but all it's outputting is a blue screen. No error messages displayed.

When I use the remote, the sensor on the box flashes, but nothing else happens. It won't power back down from the remote.

I've tried plugging it out again for a few minutes, and I've checked all the connections again but still the same results.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Try this.
    1. Unplug from esb supply.
    2. Press Backup button on sky box,
    3. Plug in the power supply at wall.
    4. Keep backup button pressed until you see software download screen on tv, then wait the required 10 mins.

    This might solve your problem.

You sure the scart lead is in properly on the sky box and tv? Remove and re-connect.Also do as said in previous post - software update.

    Thanks for the replies.

It's working again. Didn't have to do a system reset.

Rang Sky and here's what they said to do.

    Unplug the box.
Disconnect the 2 feeds coming from the LNB for about 30 seconds.
    Reconnect them.
Plug in and press the Sky button. (Took about 20-30 seconds before it would respond to the Sky button)

It came up saying that it was searching for the channel line up. Found them all and all the recorded programs are still intact. :D

    Thanks again for the replies.
