    Hi folks,

I was thinking about going on the USIT under 35's work a year in Canada programme..

Has anyone done this?. Basically I work in I.T. and hope to get a job in I.T. over there for a year or so!. Is it difficult to find places to stay etc?.

Any info would be most appreciated.

It would be difficult to find work tbh, Canada is on the verge of a recession and jobs are hard to find. If you definitely want to go to Canada, try to get interviews lined up before you leave Ireland.

I've been speaking to a few Canadians and they were saying the British Columbia area is finding that a lot of the older generation are retiring and as a result they're crying out for jobs...

Well it may be a stroke of luck but just found out my contracting company here in Ireland also have offices in Canada.

Is there anyone out there thats done the USIT program but also worked in IT in Canada??

I'm over here since September on the USIT program. It costs a few quid, but it's well worth it. There's plenty of IT jobs here around Vancouver, can't speak for the other cities though.
PM me if you need any info
