Setting up PSP to connect to Wireless router.

    Hi,

I'm trying to get online with my psp but am having some difficulty.

I have a Netgear DG834N router - I have WPA-PSK [TKIP] encryption enabled on the router.

The PSP can detect my wireless network as displays my SSID but when I enter in the network key (done this over 50 times now and nothing to do with case sensitivity) the connection times out. "the key information exchange timed out"

I've also added the Mac address of the PSP in to the Wireless Station Access list on the router.

Any ideas as I'm totally stumped.

    Thanks.

Have it working with WEP encryption enabled on router but want WPA-PSK [TKIP] enabled as this is much more secure and has always been the encryption I've had enabled on the router.

Is this a problem with WPA-PSK [TKIP]??

I'm not sure if the PSP supports WPA out of the box. It might need a firmware upgrade.

The psp will certainly work with wpa - I fixed one up for a guy in work a few weeks ago but I am nearly sure that it involved downloading the lastest psp update first.

It defo needs the most recent version of firmware available.
IMHO theres nothing wrong with WEP either for use in the majority of home networks.
