em, down in my area of the country we have caredoc which is an after hours gp care service, they have a car with green lights on it and no siren giving the option for cars to move out of the way. Usually when they are responding, it could be at the request of the ambulance service to assit a maternity case or something.

The quality of the doctor depends tbh, sometimes really good local gp's do it and sometimes it is foreign gp's who(no offence to them) dont want to be there at that hour of the night and are snappy and useless. The quality purely depends on who is working and therefore luck of the draw.
