They don't actually. Genuine mistake will make a contract voidable under contract law. Furthermore, if you read the terms and conditions of most websites, you do not actually make a contract with them at the point you think you do. No contract exists generally until the company actually dispatches the item. On reading of this website, the matter is no different:
    # No contract for the sale of any product will subsist between you and Play.com until Play.com dispatches the product(s) ordered. We will confirm that the product(s) have been dispatched by a confirmation email. This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by Play.com of your offer to buy goods from Play.com or a third party supplier that is engaged on your behalf by Play.com (whether or not you receive that e-mail).

Thus, whilst they may honour the order. There is absolutely no obligation on them to do so.

I'd imagine they'd just charge you the original price when they notice it?
As with every delivery you get an invoice & maybe they check it?

But just for arguments sake, did anyone actually order any?

Play are up to no good, they have a few misprices today. A Dr Who limited edition set was £4 earlier (RRP: £99.99) and Harry Potter 1-5 Limited Edition Suitcase Boxset was £16.00 (RRP: £71.99).

Where did you see that? i did notice that it is buy 2 get 1 free there!

I was joking.... In the last few days Warner Bros and HBO have become Blu-Ray exclusive, Blu Ray has a 3:2 market share, and 8 of theTop 10 HD titles this month are Blu-ray... Toshiba even postponed their CES show after the news hit....

I wouldn't say HD DVD is dead just yet, but i may not be long if Universal and Paramount also jump on the Bandwagon :D

Battlestar Galactica sucks! Even at that price it's not worth it, don't bother!

You know this thread and even the way it was started reminds of the mis-prices they had about 16 months ago. At the time I ordered 4 full seasons of 24, the full 7th season of Westwing (just released at the time) some new PS2 game for the kids that I cant recall the title of and I got the whole thing for €58 :p

    Good on ya Play.com

Yeah, a few online merchants could learn lessons from Play.com who honoured a lot of misprices (which were their mistake).

One of my favourite online stores.. up until they started ripping us off with their "unique" euro conversion rate.

No sh*t. See if you can buy a sense of humour off that website, because it seems you're the one who missed the joke.
