Riga and Cigs

Off to Riga in a couple of months, anyone know the price of cigs, also are you allowed bring back 800 from Latvia like the other established EU countries. ?

We were there last March. 200 cigarettes cost about €10. My friends were all buying up their share. I just couldn't do it...And then the week after was when they had the big haul.

Funny how they make up the free market rules as they go along, it's a kind of apartheid for the new member countries :rolleyes:. It should be 800 for all.

I don't know, I think it kind of makes sense. The taxes in Latvia must be nearly non existant. In saying that, I didn't know there was any extra restriction. My friends were all buying 800 cigarettes. Which, is probably nothing in comparison to some others, who are only bringing cigarettes.
