    need a new psu. looking to spend between 30 and 40 euro. any recommendations? It's only to tie me over for a few months. Times are tight at the moment.

    call into a pcworld or similar and get the cheapest you can, as everything around that pricer range is generally crap.

    Should try adverts aswell.. Friend of mine bought a psu from PC world and it would power his pentium 4 512mb pc it was like a 300 watt

    PC World are pretty bad, Maplins have offers on from time to time. They have 450w iCute psu's at the moment for 40 quid, and 480w VCool psu's for about the same. Think the Vcool had better rails, the iCute only had 18a.

    If it's only for a few months, and provided you're not running high end stuff, you'll get by. Check here too. Probably rebadged Q-Tec or similar.
