I was asked to take photos of a mother's baby mostly her feet in her hands. As Iv never done this before how do I go about this??
    I currently own a Nikon D1x with a Nikkor 28-80 and a sigma 28-300 lens

Check Flickr for some similar shots, might give you some inspiration...

I think you would definitely need a large aperture lens to get the shots in natural light and to blur the background - recommend a 50mm f1.8

    what's your fastest lens?
i'd have said go wide open for small depth of field, and shoot black and white. partly because babies often have rashes, and they show up less in b&w.

There's one what I took here ... the EXIF data is there so if you like the effect use settings do similar, and if you don't do differently ;)

Well the fastest lens i have is the nikkor 28-80 lens. Does the background have to be black?
