What version of Photoshop? What version of Adobe Raw? What camera files are you trying to open? (I know NEF but from what camera)

Maybe check out the photoshop updates for raw files:

Its adobe cs2 and a Nikon D40x. Sorry, but I never heard of Adobe Raw:confused:

Adobe Raw sits on top of Photoshop to convert your raw files.

It might be a case that your D40x files are only supported in recent versions of Adobe Raw, which requires CS3.

Check on the Adobe site (search for Raw) and the version of the converter will say what files it supports, and what version of Photoshop is needed.

    I hope this help you.

Support for the D40x was added in 4.1 for CS3...

I think you can update Camera Raw from the Adobe website, as long as you have CS2 and above. Website here.

The newer versions of Adobe Raw (after 3.7) require CS3. It's unfortunate for people with the newer cameras.

It's a bit confusing from the website, as it does mention CS2 towards the bottom. Upon reading more carefully, it does state that the latest version for CS2 is 3.7! My bad. :o

Have you checked to see if a RAW covetror came with the camera?

You can download the Adobe DNG (Digital Negative) converter from here and work away in the older versions of PS. A bit of a pain but it allows users of newer cameras to work on RAW files on older versions of PS.
