Identification of a Plant!

    Hi! I hope this is the right place to post this!

    My mam received a present of a plant today, delivered to the house but without any care instruction or label with it.

    I'm hoping that maybe any gardeners here will be able to identify it by theses pictures. The leaves have spiky edges and the flower looks a bit pink in the pictures but it is actually red! Thanks.

    I can narrow it down a bit as its probably Bromeliad, but that is a massive group of plants that includes air plants and pineapples. http://www.bromeliads.info/ might give you a start for more info. Not difficult plants to grow.
