You have to copy it the old fashioned way i.e. play it and record to the device. If you are asking can you copy files off sky plus then the answer is no - its encrypted and not in an open format.

Sky+ does have a nifty copy function from the planner that allows you to tag and line up a number of programs to play in sequence to allow a dump to DVDR or VHS overnight without intervention.

Did you manage to copy your Sky+ programmes to DVD? I have a collection of movies that I want to transfer to DVD because I want to keep them and need to make room on the Sky+ box. Did you use the usual 4.7Gb DVD which supposedly can hold 120 minutes?
I am concerned that I cannot copy movies that are longer than 2 hours.

I've done it the old fashioned way as well. A bit time consuming, but sure, it's better then nothing.

The movies on Sky are of a very low bit rate, if you select one of the longer recording options on your DVR you won't have any problems fitting them on without any loss of quality.
