Anyone care to expound on the musical virtues of Mr Richard Hawley. I got Lowedges last Sunday and think it's brilliant. Which album of his should i get next?

"coles corner" is fantabulous!! get it.
his music makes me feel warm inside....at least i think its his music that does that.

the new album ladys bridge is also great - esp the song "tonight the streets are ours"

dunno, read loads about him, and i liked some of the longpigs stuff, but i thought his solo stuff was/is rubbish, i felt like "is it me?" cos all the mags raged over him. just my opinion...

Thanks for that - i'll probably end up getting both. i'm going to see him in Galway on the 14th of Feb. Cant flipping wait. theres just something about the guitar on most of his songs, totally class. cant put my finger on it.

True, i can remember him getting alot of plaudits from the press a few years ago and i dont usually go for singer/songwriter bed-wetters, but without sounding like too much of a tit, theres something etheral about the guitar playing, very simple, but lovely.
