Planning Application in Cork

    Hi, I am currently filling out a planning application in Cork. On the supplementary planning application one of the questions asks "are there any other exceptional circumstances that would support your case for a dwelling at this rural location?".

    When they state "exceptional" does anyone have any experience of what they mean? I was told to put down that I have elderly parents living close by. I wouldn't have thought this was exceptional as a lot of people building on the home farm would be in the same situation? Are there any other "exceptional" circumstances that assist the planning application?

    The best idea is to attach a letter explaining why you want to build this house at this time in this location, definately put in parents, farm etc. The councils generally dont like granting one off houses in the country.

    hey just got planning permission in waterfall co. cork in dec , my partner is from the area and i am not, so we also had to fill out this form, we just wrote family lived here, and that we have a child. i know these are not exceptional either but they must have worked!!!
