    From Monday 14th of January.

    Monday 8.30 pm
    €75+5 Freezeout
    6500 chips, blinds 30 minutes

    Tuesday 8.30 pm
    €50+5 Double Chance
    3000 + 3000 chips, blinds 20/25 minutes

    Tuesday 9 pm
    €20+5 5Card Draw, €10 Rebuys

    Wednesday 8.30 pm
    €20+5, 2 x Rebuy, 1 x Add-on
    2000, 2000, 3000, 4000 chips, blinds, 20/25 minutes

    Thursday 8.30 pm
    €95+5 Double Chance
    4000 + 4000 chips, blinds 20/25 minutes

    Friday 8.30 pm
    €55+5 “Scalps”, 1 x Rebuy or Add-on
    3000, 4000 chips, blinds 20/25 minutes

    Saturday 7 pm
    €120+5 Freezeout
    7000 chips, blinds 30 minutes

    Saturday 8.30 pm
    €15+5 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha
    1000, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 chips, blinds 20 minutes

    Sunday 4pm
    €27+3 Freezeout
    4000 chips, blinds 20 minutes

    Sunday 8.30 pm
    €40+5, 1 x Rebuy, 1x Add-on
    2000, 3000, 4000, blinds 20/25 minutes.

Where blind levels are 20/25 minutes, it means the first three levels are 20 minutes, and all remaining levels are 25.

As you can see most of the tournaments are the same as before, although we have made an effort to improve the structures in all of the tournaments. as such, longer levels and more chips.

Two new additions to the weekly schedule: the 95+5 double chance on a thursday night and the 120+5 freezeout on saturday evenings. this tournament has a 7pm start. We feel that the earlier start is a good idea on a saturday when most people are not coming straight from work, and it allows us to have an excellent structure, with plenty of chips and a half hour clock all the way through.

all tournament tables are nine-handed. On the rare occasion when lack of space forces us to deal ten-handed, the tenth seats will be removed and we will break to nines.

I'm looking forward to any feedback from boards users on the structures. I feel that they're now much better than before, and look forward to seeing many of you and discussing how you feel about them in the New Year.

Do many play the draw tournament on Tuesdays? Or is it generally a few older players?

I'm loving the look of Saturdays game Marq. WP!

I also think that the early introduction of 25 minute levels makes thing just a little more playable midweek and is a good balance on a school night.

The Sat evening event could become really popular.
I have noticed a tightening up in the Fitz over the last week regarding early bird chips etc. which is good to see.
Are you going to guarantee that cards will be in the air at 8:30 when specified ?

Are there still early bird chips? I am in the middle of updating tournies for Fitz ,SE , and CHL's now, so a response would be handy. I am assuming 20% early bird still applies except to freezeouts.

Edit: Sticky updated Marq. If you want to check and let me know by PM if anything needs changing, then go ahead.

yes there are still early bird chips, 20% up to 500. But you now only receive them if you are in your seat for the first hand of the tournament.

As for start times, I can't "guarantee" that the tournaments will start at 8.30, but with the new bonus chip rule hopefully we can drill it in to people's heads that wandering in at 9.15 to play a half eight tourney just isn't on, and gradually become less tardy.

generally a few older players who all know each other. they organise the tournament themselves with no involvement from the house.

I don't have a copy of all of the structures with me right now but I'll ask Marq to post a copy of all of them when I see him next.

    what is a freeze out?

The wife and I like to play for fun. If we pop down at 8:30 pm on saturday night we can play for 20 euro each in the limit game?

The Fitz is on Fitzwilliam St lower, between Merrion square and Baggot St and just across from the ESB head offices. A freeze out is when you pay a set amount for a set number of chips and when you lose them you are out of the tournament. The freezeout there tonight is due to start at 7pm, and if you get there at 8.30 the tournament then is the Round of each (omaha and Holdem, both pot limit) with a €20 entry and up to 4 rebuys for €15 each. You cannot play a cash game for less than €50 entry each, and the game is 1/2 pot limit.

This is the first time it has run so no indication of numbers yet, but hopefully it will get more than 30 runners. I am thinking about playing.

So what was the sat FO like ??

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

    Easy money......

Seriously though I ran fairly good to win it after a 90 minute headsup battle against kebabfest that swung back and forth a couple of times, and Marq was 3rd. Only 16 runners though but I hope it increases as it was a good tourney and very good structure. Started at 7.15 and finished about 1.30.

wp lad. I think the main difference was I paid off your big hands and you didnt pay off mine.
I dont think you made too many mistakes in heads up play.
Longest I have played heads up I think.
Gotta learn how to throw the feckin' cards away at some stages !!

nice new schedule and gud to see that you along with the sports are trying to keep reg fee below 10% while every 1 else is increasing it to 20% and above in some cases.

Sounds like a potentially excellent tournament; I think I'll use this as a way to ease back into the Dublin scene. I don't think I played a live tournament in Dublin at all last year.

You should, it's been too long since you've been around Derek.
