TCM removed by SKY?

When I arrived home in the new year I found that I could no longer get TCM on SKY. I had been receiving it up to then (since signing up around 2 years ago).

    Anyone know what's the story?

It has been moved (with TCM2) from the Variety Mix onto the Style & Culture Mix. I presume you don't subscribe to Style & Culture?

Sky and their stupid packages. I want to have only the ones I want. Which is less than one mix pack and I have to get three packs now if I want TCM.

The basic sky package is €30. The mix packs are just an illusion of providing variety. There's no point going for anything less than all packs unless you want to annoy yourself.

Thanks... and no, I don't subscribe to Style & Culture

    - funny you should presume that - do you know my identity? - several people have said that a bit of style and culture might improve me.

I'm not annoying myself - SKY are annoying me!

If Sky would allow me to subscribe to Sky Sports without taking any other packages they would have money from me but they don't want it.

Indeed, the whole mixes option is a sham.

What, out of morbid curiosity, do Classic Movies have to do with "Style and Culture"

It's not that I don't sympathise, the way sky run a business is without a doubt two fingers in the air to the customer, but at the end of the day it's up to you to decide whether or not you hand over cash to them. Sky do nasty stuff like this = they get no cash from me. If more people did this, they would be forced to listen. As you are a long-time subscriber, why not give them a call and threaten loudly to cancel over this? They might offer a sweetener.

I'm guessing in Sky-land, old = culture. Y'know, like "Diner" or "North by Northwest", both tightly woven into the culture of North America.

    I might cancel.

They show nothing but rubbish, then have the neck to repeat it for 6 months over and over! It's a complete waste of money.

Just noticed TCM is back on my basic Sky subscription.

Just checked my own Sky, have TCM and TCM2.

    I have 2 mixes - Entertainment/Variety (whatever it's called!) and Knowledge.

Woo. Sky or somebody must've changed their mind, as TCM was moved to Style & Culture.

Probably enough people complained. Maybe people care for old B&W films?

I'm on entertainment and knowledge. i think TCM was always on entertainment. Must start watching it before it disappears again.

I'd say it may be back to say (personal opinion). I'd agree with Bond that enough people complained when it disappeared.

I've entertained a few calls at work about it, it's surprising the viewership it does get.

Comparing TCM's listings to that of a Sky movie channel, there is no doubt that the quality films are on the free chnnel.

I thought that getting all the packages was the only option that made sense.

TCM hasn't been free for years?
