hi there to all who read this,
i've been noticing for the last year or so that drums are becoming more popular among teenagers instead of guitar and bass. I don't know of its just me for i've played drums for a good few years and at the time when i bought my first set they weren't really common as most people i knew played guitar, but now a good few that have played guitar have moved onto drums!? I've asked a my friends and people why they chose to play drums all of a sudden and the most answer i've heard is "chicks love it"

so i was thinking if it was just me or is it happening around your area too?

    thanks
    :D

No its not the same in my area, there's about 2 drummers in my area, well teenagers anyway. The choice I'm faced with is have one drummer who isnt great or one that is completely unreliable.

I started on guitar and then started playing drums as well. I didn't start playing drums 'cause chicks love it, I started 'cause I didn't like what all the drummers I knew were playing :P Everyone's all about their double bass pedals... Meh!

I only know about 4 drummers from my area. I know there is more of them around though. Ive always loved playing drums, never got into it for the "chicks". There is an increased number of people playing drums, but there is also an increase in guitar. Nearly everyone i know, knows how to play guitar, or atleast dabble in it. The only bad this is its spawning alot of crap bands. There are very few bands from ireland that i actually like.
