    Right so.

Who'll transplant my old famas internals in to one of these clone bodies?

    I would but I'm a bit backed up on AEG work at the moment. I have to;

Replace the springs in 2 AK74's add metal bushings and reshim them.
Replace the springs in 2 FN F2000's and possibly reshim them.
My RPK 74 is being stripped down and totally rebuilt yet again :(
Dissassemble the stock mechanisims in 3 Unicorn AKSU's and dremel them to get the gearbox to work properly *sigh*

looks like there pretty hot though huh, 380fps,.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Fiach Dubh

Yeah they'll have to be downgraded first, although 380 is quite low compaired to most of the clones coming out in the last few months, 400-480 is becoming more and more common. Bad for us I'm afraid, I still can't find a reliable Chinese supplier that does downgrades :(

    Neato.

I've been waiting for a decent metal bodied version to come along. The TM piece is great but the ABS is so thin and creaky.

And yes ... it IS ugly ... but thats part of its charm.

Its like the kid with the big forehead but it turns out they can run really fast. DuuurrrrrrrZZZOOOOoooooooommmmmm.

I`ll be glad to say YEAH, but ...
    1) It`s still same old one FA-MAS, co I suppose it` s still mech. I ... useless (but if I`m wrong, kdouglas will cry and I `ll be nicely surprised)
    2) It`s still old FA-MAS, it`s mean no STANAG mags. Bye bye compatibility with my M4,HK416,M16,F2000 mags. Does they (factories) don`t know, that F1 is from seventies, but this gun is now in fancy new version with full NATO mags compatibility?
    3) Lots of plastic parts. I know, G36 is plastic as well, but construction of G36 and FA-MAS is far cry.
OK, because it is an epic gun with long history, and because our squad is actually "doing" French, I`m willing spend days and nights fix this troubles. Tony, when You receive first batch, please? ;)

Yeah, i want one! :D yeah still a bit cautious about buying foreign due to what i hear about customs, but nowhere in ireland retails the FAMAS at this point in time!

From my point of view its cos the existing clone Famas is an ugly, unreliable pile of muck.
And the TM one is just an ugly pile.

If you want a TM one, any one of us Irish retailers would be more than happy to get you one. It shouldn't be too hard for us to get protective gloves to handle it with ;)

Shiva, TMs are expensive. If you want one you'ld be better to save up the extra an get a taste transplant instead.

Shiva? I ment "You" in the general sense, not the specific. You know the way the paranoid people think someone is out to get them?

Well, ok, I am out to get you in this case, but that's purely coincidental........:D

Try shouldering one. The buggers must've designed them for Quazimodo.

I can supply asbestos gloves, welders masks (so you can't actually see it) and other super heavy ppe should you need a supplier. I can also get Full Spectrum Fire suits. Such as this

Excuse me for a sec' while I PMSL at this latest "ooo-aaa-its-full-metal-ooo-aaa" effort by our Chinese airsoft-manufacturing overlords : the RS is plastic

That said, give us a bell if you start stocking the TM, Tony - at the price of these, I'd rather have the "not full metal / made by TM" combo for barely a few €s more ;)

@ Alvin T Grey - shouldered/fired the RS plenty of time during my MilService, and enough peeps around here will vouch that I ain't no Quasimodo: nothing wrong with ergonomics, I can tell you, and I still prefer it (vastly) over the Steyr.

    Hear hear!

Though I'll say that I would prefer a metal frame ... anything to stop the creaking on the TM version.
