Will a pouch designed for two 7.65mm ak47 mags take two stanag 5.56's?

Ehobby have a classy looking russian mag vest but, alas, I dont yet own an ak.

But in the short term I will be sticking in stanags.

Yup, 7.62mm mags are a bit thinner and shorter than 5.56 mags and AK mags are usually a bit bulkier than M4 mags to boot. If it's a twin pouch you'd definitely fit 2 mags, maybe 3 if it expands well.

    Shorter an thinner?

so a pouch for two ak47 full sixe 7.65mms will take 5.56's?

Its a two ak mag pouch, I want to put in two stanags

I though the stanags were stocky and fat by comparison?

I held an ak mag once, I'm trying to remember it!:D

i have the same design of vest (mind is made by pantac but there the same really) and they do fit the m16/m4 mags with no issues they site a bit low in the pouch but not really a big problem, the vest design is also very light and comfortable to use.

AK mags and M4 mags are of similar thickness (i.e. similar enough that if the pouch fits two AK mags it'll fit two Stanags, width wise anyway) AK mags are longer and the curve on them is more pronounced so in terms of pouches AK mags take up more room than Stanags. If the pouch is for two AK mags then it should easily fit two stanags.

in fact the eHobby ad actually says it will hold the 5.56 stanags.

Just be wary of those cheap Chinese vests - they tend to fall to bits in fairly short order.

I wore one I'd got to Predator....first time using it, and the zips and button fasteners started to fall to pieces by lunchtime.
