the only walk-in store which people will recommend on here are MIA in blanchardstown (dublin), there is some gadget-shop type places dotted around the country, but most are selling cheap clones at over-inflated prices and likely wouldnt have batteries on there own to sell

eirsoft.ie is an online retailer run by the user Shiva on here, he is based in dublin but does sales online, he comes highly recommended

Its an SRC HK 416 ......

The battery has to fit the P-101 Battery Case ... Go down the list and you will see it here : http://www.starrainbow.com.tw/english/product_G01.html .

You can get them at Eirsoft or MIA . But your best bet is getting them from foreign online airsoft stores of Ebay.

componentshop.co.uk are very good for batteries, they specialise in electronics and batts/chargers for rc and airsoft

Any specific reason why it has to be a 1200mAh battery? Going with a higher current will give you more operating time, it won't harm the aeg at all. Only a different voltage will risk aeg internals and that's only if they're not reinforced.

Dex is right, only the voltage and the physical size and shape of the battery and the connector types are important, the more mAh the better.

I have a 1400 mah I'll have to discharge after a full days use, so is plenty of capacity.

Your 416 likely takes the crane stock battery, its a particular shape, you'll need to order the right one.

    I dont think so . . .

Here is a picture of the gun :

    dscf0005-495xautit.jpeg

As you can see, The battery wire is sticking out a hole on the front of the gun ... And you get a P101 (As shown in the last link I gave) Fake laser sight Battery holder which clips to the top of the front of the gun .

As I said, if it is indeed a Large type battery then any 8.4v Large type will do, regardless of it mAh rating (the higher the better really). Every airsoft store does these including all Irish stores. I got one from Eirsoft just prior to Christmas. MIA, IAS and AirsoftEire all do them at varying ratings and brands too.

Also, the P101 you mentioned doesn't necessarily have to be mounted on top. It's traditionally mounted to either of the sides as it can often obscure the iron sights if you mount it up top. Personal choice though.

Why is the box and packaging marked as an M4 and showing an M4 on it if there's a 416 inside?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 nenagh_lad

    Ok Thanks for that.

Well the box is just any old box I think ... Unrelated. And the manual is the same for all guns, supposedly the manufacturer doesent have seperate manuals for seperate guns :p

I'm not being belligerent here, just curious.....why do you say that ?

When you take shipping into account, there isn't much difference between a HK price and one of the Irish retailers. In fact most of the time, because batteries are heavy, its cheaper to buy in Ireland.

Also, from what I've seen in online comments about the SRC HK416, it takes an 8.4v mini size.

Absolutely true, importing a battery is a rather stupid idea given they're so easily obtainable through Irish retailers for the same prices, if not cheaper. The same with bb's. The sheer weight of them makes the economy of shipping versus the purchase of them from an Irish store seem like an idiotic idea.

If nothing else you're supporting the Irish airsoft market.

I'd always buy Irish before buying from abroad, especially for little things like batteries, the prices work out about the same when you add up the shipping and you'll get what you were looking for a lot faster. Now if it's something that you can't get in Ireland then you've got no choice, but all of the Irish retailers (bar the likes of DW2 etc.) have kept their prices reasonable even though they could be charging through the nose for stuff, I reckon that deserves our support.

Sorry, Ye got the wrong idea...... I just meant that foreign stores would have the biggest selection of batteries, thats all.
