Flights to South America

I'm going to South America in July for a fortnight arriving in Rio and returning from Lima, the best quote I got was from club travel for about €1300 departing via Paris and Amsterdam on return, thats well clear of the rest, should I accept that or could I possibly do better than that. Club Travel seem to be far cheaper for all flights than anyone else, how do they do and more importantly is there a catch with them?

Actually james ebookers cost about €300 more for the same package, I don't think I'll beat Club Travel's price but I'm still open to suggestions.

Yesterday I was looking for July-August flights to Argentina, the cheapest I found was just over €1000 return on ebookers.

It varies. They may have a deal with the airline. As for catches - well the less you pay, the less flexible your ticket is likely to be should any changes need to be made.

I've been looking at similar flights over the past few weeks for about 4-5 weeks in June/July - I've gotten prices of about €800 for Dublin to Buenos Aires (Argentina) return, but and for Dublin - Rio, Lima - Dublin I've gotten a price of €940. This is for flights with Iberia, via Madrid on the way over and back - the fact that it's only got one stop and it doesn't involve the hassle of going via the US or Heathrow is a big plus. (Same price for 01/07/08 to 16/07/08). If you can spare any more than two weeks then you'd be far better off - it's a long flight and you lose at least a day on the way over.

The prices are direct from Iberia.

Try booking on www.klm.com directly and it may be cheaper. They list both the Air France and KLM fares, and you can use the "multi-city" option and do an open jaw.

    www.lastminute.ie is usually good too.

I flew with KLM/Air France in November to South America and they were the cheapest option. Try moving days if possible away from weekends.

i found clubtravel (through austravel on abbey st) the cheapest as well for my flight to australia, wouldn't have thought of them apart from someone on here mentioning www.go4less.ie a while ago
when i flew to sth america klm were cheapest thought that was a straight forward return to lima. make sure you do walk around, drink lots of water so you don't end up with deep vein thrombosis like i did :(
