    Hi

I am planning to surpeise my wife by bringing her to Italy for her Birthday. I'm just looking for ideas on where to go and how to book (internet / agent etc).
I want to go for 1 week and spend 2 nights in Rome after that I'm stuck on where to go. I'll have a car so want to go other places that are within driving distance.

thanks a milllion for any suggestions.

    Jarvis

Florence and Sienna, are must dos, and portofino is only a four hour drive from Rome, so you could do something along those lines: rome- inland route to sienna- florence-portofino- coastal route back to rome

Rome is more than less, a central location in the country, you can either go north or south.. North = Florence, Pisa, Milan, Venice, Bolonga. South is Amalfi, Naples, Bari..

    Rome is a must!

Go south as was said...... go to naples( not to stay there but to get the train to sorrento and then get the ferry to capri(im in love with capri) a day trip out there is perfect!

in other words.....Rome, Sorrento and Capri for its pure beauty! amazing places!!!

I never did the whole amalfi coast but was told its amazing too!
