I'm going to Boston with a friend for st. patricks week but I have no idea of where would be considered 'central' in Boston.

Can anyone name some streets or locations that would be good areas to look for a hotel in? thanks

Anywhere around Nauthial Hall (sp) or Quincy Market is a good location. I stayed in the Holiday Inn near govt. central tube station. The city centre is centred around Downtown Crossing but I found that quite a run down area and wouldn't bother staying there. Get a guide book and look at the map.
