    Its 2008, lets get started...

This year we kick off the Weird Scientist with one of Dublins finest dj's headling.
ARVEENE has only ever known a life behind the decks. Spent most of last year playing abroad and clocking up the air miles, with a residency in one of London's best clubs, The End. Catch him on Spin 103.8 every Saturday from 7.45-10.45pm with Johnny Moy. Completely passionate about what he does. "There's nothing like the feeling of being in a club when it's taking off." Warmed up for The Prodigy last year in front of 20,000 people. "It was pretty mental." And, has shared the stage and counts superstar DJs Mylo, David Holmes, Liam Howlett, Erol Alkan and Darren Emerson among his friends and mentors.
Needless to say we are very, very excited about having ARVEENE spin his particular blend of electro, house and breaks and join the ranks of superstar DJ's in the making that have taken the time out to come and show us how its done down at the Weird Scientist.

Also appearing on the night is ROBBIE RYAN(515 & BigDishGo), nobody can question his versatility; whether he's creating a night woven with dark and dirty beats or charging up the dance floor with blistering bouncing new wave bass lines, Robbie intuitively works a room with his creative mixing and unexpected programming style.
ROBBIE RYAN makes his debut at the Weird SCientist this month but there is no doubt in this Scientists mind that it will be the first of many to come!

Starting off the night we have a DJ more known for his role as one half of one of Dublin's best breaks acts sKetchKraft - GILES K. GILES K has recently been playing more and more solo gigs and slots around town. Giles has a natural funky sensability mixed with a love of dirty bass that gets every session and gig I've been at going.

Visuals on the night will once again be supplied by Q.P.O.P . who, after last months performance with Hystereo headlining has cemented a Visual Residency at all up and coming Weird Scientist nights. You can see photo's of this mans particular flare at our MySpace(address below).

In other news we are delighted to announce that we received a nomination in the Best Small Club Award category at the first ever annual Dance Music Ireland Awards presented by Slick DJ Magazine.
The award is given out as result of public vote so if you have a minute please log onto www.Slick-DJ.com and register you vote. Its very quick and very easy to use.
Other friends of ours in the running are: Produse(best live show), Nice and Nasty(best label), Derek Carr(best album) Sourcecode(best producer), Arveene(best dj) and Dan Mack(best resident).
So if your not sure on the other categories please vote for them ;-)

Also we have now been given the LAST FRIDAY of every month at VooDoo so spread the word as its as regular as we're gonna get!!

Thanks again for your continued support and keep your eyes and ears open as we have a lot of exciting line ups and some surprises planned for the coming year.

Please log onto www.myspace.com/theweirdscientist for more info and photo's.

    regards,

    tws.
