I noticed I drink loads of water when I play poker online. I'm wondering if it has got to do with the stress element of the game.

    Anybody else notice this?

I've noticed that a bit, but what I notice more is that I rarely get hungry when playing. Also I go to the jacks alot more often, probably to do with the water thing!

visions of you sitting in a big nappy with one of them baseball hats with beer lines coming from it springs to mind!!

I find i drink a lot of beer when playing although new years resolution is stop this and start taking it a bit more serious

Usually what happens is I'm forced to stand up for some reason (e.g. apartment on fire) and only then notice that I'm in danger of my bladder bursting. Then when I get back from the toilet I often notice that I'm hungry, or tired, or that it's morning and I'm supposed to be in work in 2 hours.

Dont think it makes me thirsty but since I went on my eight loss programme I make a concious decision to drink at least 4 litres per day...

lol at my spare room at one stage... It was costing me a fortune buying water so now I use a filter jug..

Anyone going to get tested for diabetes hope that thirst isn't for sweet drinks.

About the stress element of the game...I was playing way above my comfort level a while back, and in big pots I noticed that my heart was pounding, my guts were knotted up and I was just generally in a very unhealthy state...a very good argument, if any was needed, for staying in your comfort zone.

Not until you mentioned it.. but now you do I realise I do exactly that with tea. If I was watching telly (a rare thing) I would sit there, but I get endless cups of tea and find myself reaching for the cup constant while playing! and once it gets shorthanded its worse!

On the down side, my sleep is affected as Im up at loo all night :(
