I have a Lidl SilverCrest FTA system. Is there a generic brand for this type of receiver?

I want to program a new universal remote control and SilverCrest does not appear on the list of codes in their booklet.

Have the feeling that others will have the same problem as the remote control went on sale in Lidl today.

    Thanks in advance.

its common problem with lots of brands of sat receivers.

universal remotes are close to useless.

get an original and save a lot of trouble.

Hello (first time poster). I got one of those universal remote controls from Lidl (7 euro) that is being sold this week and it works perfectly well with my silvercrest system if that helps you.

Original remotes cost a fortune, I got a universal remote in Aldi 2 years ago and it operates 8 items of various makes and the batteries are still the originals!!!

A lot of the problems are because peeps don't know how to program them.

Just looked at my original post and I think I have to expand it a little. If you get the Lidl universal remote control that is on sale this week and use the "learn function" (see the accompanying booklet for instructions on how to do this) you can manually programme it. It is a little cumbersome but it does work.

Based on your original post I presumed that you had a code but did not post it. But I quickly programmed the universal remote the other night (using the “learn” feature) and it works fine.

Regarding the other comment about the universal remote being to close to useless: I have to disagree. This new remote controls 4 different devices and it’s great. No more fussing about with different remotes, no more pushing the remotes off the side table to make way for my coffee. And since I’m sparing 6 AAA batteries, think about my contribution to the environment!

I will let ye know when I rig it up to operate the (manual) coffee percolator.
