Naw, that only has 6mb cache, Q9450 at $316 with 12mb cache is one to go for.
$50 is like less than 30e, well worth the extra.

Cheers for the link - didn't realize the new dual cores would be out before the quads. Thought they were all scheduled for late February or March.

Now I don't know whether to wait for the Q9xxx series quads or pick up a cheap E8400 sooner. :)

All I can say is, poor AMD.

    +1

Price/performance the Q9450 seems like the one to go for.

They did. And it was broken. And that won't be fixed until the next stepping, and that'll probably be out AFTER all of the above are, and it's still not exactly a Core Extreme-killer :(

Nope, 45nm Amd chips have now been put off til 2009, no wonder Intel are in no rush with theirs.

    Q9450 Q9450 Q9450 yummers.

I reckon this'll the brain of my summer build, shouldnt be too hard to get it up 3.5 on air, 4.0 on water.

Seems like the best bang for buck.

Intel Wolfdale processors available to pre-order:

    Hardwareversand.de

    Overclockers.co.uk

As expected, the processors are only slightly dearer then the models they replace.
