Trinity News and Ents

    Hey,

Does anyone knows how to start writing for Trinity News or The Record? Do you just send in articles of interest or are stories assigned to current members of Pubs? If anyone is currently writing for a TCD publication is it mainly the same group of people published or are they happy taking on new writers?

Also ents! How do you get involved in organising nights out or fundraising events? (when you're not a class rep)

    Thanks for any replies

If you want to write for trinity news, you should send an email the way of Gearoid o'rourke or Dave Molloy and tell them you want to write. Specify what type of writing you'd like to do (any particular type or just general news?). If you want to be involved in Ents, email Ed O'Riordan. The emails of all these individuals can be found by way of the studentfinder.

    Have fun.. :)

To write for The Record, e-mail the Editor Claire Tighe at publicity@tcdsu.org or the News Editor, Mr. Robert Kearns at news@therecord.ie. Let them know what type of stories you're interested in writing and they'll get back to you. Both TN and The Record are always looking for good, new writers so give them both a shout. Check out www.trinitynews.ie and www.therecord.ie for the websites of both papers, giving you a really good idea of the kinds of things that are in the papers. Both sites also have contact details.

To get involved in Ents just contact the wonderful (plug much?) Ents Officer Ed O' Riordan on ents@tcdsu.org. Just let him know that you'd like to get involved in helping out with some of the SU Ents nights, if that's your thing. There is an 'Ents Crew' that give Ed a huge hand organising nights and not many of them are Class Reps.

There's lots of way to get involved in this stuff and that's just two of them. Don't forget to check out Miscellany, Icarus, Piranha and contact your Class Rep to see if they want a hand organising a night out!

Cheers for the advice, I'll get on the job! Dunno about that O'Riordan chap though I hear he's a hand clap away from a special needs class ....just what I heard like!

Instead of going by hearsay, why not meet the chap? I don't know him very well either, but I do find comments like that offensive.

Sorry if any offence was caused, it was genuinely a joke as ed posted the last comment (the very nice one giving advice and all)! :) I met ed earlier in the year at one of the ents nights, very nice guy
