    Hoiwdy,

Im heading off to Paris in a few weeks and just wondering if there any good pubs/clubs in the area around the Eiffel Tower.

Im not really into the Cafe Bar scene so any recommendations on where you could go for a good piss-up - around the 20-35 age group cause every time we go to a new city we seem to miss all the good spots.

    Cheers

Possibly a bit out of your way, but I'm rather fond of The Frog & Rosbif. They have a couple of other branches around Paris too.

Cheers, ya that looks exactly what i'm looking for - first time in Paris so dont much about the cost of the place - are taxis reasonable - is it easy to get by without a word of French - ah sure i suppose i'll find out - believe it is expensive to go out there

It's been a while since I was in Paris last, but it's perfectly possible to eat and drink very well on very little money. The restaurants around St Michel and similar studenty bits can be great value. Never got a taxi: with the métro and RER I don't know why you'd need one. While I wouldn't advise speaking no French at all, you'll get much better service if you at least make a cack-handed attempt at basic French. People will generally speak English to you after that.

Don't drink in any pubs around the Champs Elysses anyway.

    You'll be looking at €12-18 a pint.

I've no idea. After I left the champs elysees, I had no money left.
