Hey i got my HD about 3 mths ago, last ferw days theres been some infrequent problems...... flashes similiar to lightening have appeared a good few times, also 3 times(twice been during one game of PES last night) the screen went blank for 2/3 secs then came back on...

anyone have similiar probs?.... does this warrant a return to the shop for a replacement?

did you check that your HDMI cable isn't loose? not trying to be smart or anything, but i guess it could happen

To me it sounds like a tv problem. If your normal tv channels work fine, try connecting another HDMI device other than your PS3 (dvd player/pc) up to the tv and see what happens.

i dont use it for TV, its in my bedroom....... i did give it a twist into both ends(TV end and PS3 end) of the HDMI sockets yesterday... ill see how it goes today, but its infrequent so i dont think would be the HDMI cable

Try connecting the PS3 using the supplied componet cable for a day or 2 to see if it still happens, that should tell you if it's the PS3 or tv at fault
