iPod-Sony Walkman Music Transfer

Got a new Sony Walkman MP3 and am in the process of uploading music. My friend has an iPod and I want to take some songs from that onto mine. Right now Im just using various CD's one by one. Is it possible to upload his music onto my iTunes(from my old iPod), then transfer it onto SonicStage and then onto my MP3. my worry…
