Took a look at a nice, clean 1998 C180 Merc Estate over the weekend. Can anyone tell me what MPG I can expect from the 1.8. I have read 31.5mpg in a magazine but most of my driving is urban. Anyone got one & what MPG are you getting.

    Thanks,

    Tim

31.5mpg is realistic enough. Heavy urban use will reduce that.

With a 10 year old car there may well be bigger issues however.

I had a 96 C200 manual a while back, averaged about 35 mpg driving mostly on motorways. I'd avoid the manual box though, you need a third foot to use the foot-handbrake and the transmission is really jerky.
