Articulated Truck Drivers

    Hi, this goes out to all the articulated truck drivers out there or people knowledgable of the field.

    I need a truck driver for my business to work the days of certain outdoor events(3 times a week approx) in Ireland.
    I have a few questions that I would love to be answered so I can do proper costings:

    1. Is there many drivers(of articulated trucks) available to do such jobs 3 times a week.
    2. How much would be the going rate for an 8 hour shift for a qualified driver?
    3. Would many drivers own their own truck or have access to their own truck? How much would this increase the rate by?

    Responses or opinions in relation to any of the above are greatly appreciated.

    Hi micheal.I work as a truck driver myself and the going rate is and around about 18 euro per hour.It's hard to find a guy who will just do three days a week i'd say.A few of the polish lads would be your best bet as they will work for less than this and will proberly take a three day a week job.Most pro drivers with own cabs will charge you a hell a lot more than 18per hour mind you.I'll keep an ear to the ground and see if any of the lads are looking for work at the moment.Good luck
