iPoker Connection Question

Hi, recently started playing on an iPoker skin, and while the fish are bountiful, im having some connection issues- seems quite laggy, and have lost about 2 buyins today in situations where i flopped the nuts and disconnected. Is this a constant thing with iPoker? If so, might reconsider playing there.

Also, which of the datamining tools would ye reccommend? Goldmine is cheaper, but eyepoker has quite a nice table selection tool.

    Cheers.

Yeah, I can't play on it with irishbroadband. Ordered DSL.

I've always had small moments of lag and like yourself they have been costly.

Yesterday for example both 400 bb's deep flop A24 donk has AAxx I have 35 xx.

The money was going in disconnect protection kicked in and i was good come the river for a 100 bb pot rather than 800.

In another incident, playing a tourney a player pushed on my bb when i had KK, you can always tell by the small pause that you have lagged out.

When the small pause kicked in i was curious to see if other areas of the client were functioning so i whipped open the roullette table and hey presto..i was able to put $1 on 0 and play a hand of Blackjack.

I contacted support (who in return simply contact ipoker) the standard response as always was, there is no issue with our servers.

I emailed back stating that it was not an issue with my connection as i had no difficulty in playing their side games.

To which i was informed the servers are in seperate location, there was no problems with either servers....in short you are not getting a penny.

I believe this has to be an issue with either poor hosting/ISP services ipoker have elected to use.

There has been continual complaints since the ipoker merge and ipoker have repeatedly failed to recognise this issue.

As long as the servers are up and functioning, that's all they seem to care about.

However they are one of very few networks that suffer from such issues.

PPP/GJP perhaps you might open up discussions with ipoker in relation to their hosting/isp services.

i am currently with 3mobile and i have had serious issues with it disconnecting every few minutes..but thing is its awful on GJP but mite only happen once in a session on PPP,which i find very strange, anyone know why that is???????

maybe we should have a sticky: iPoker down?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

every time this happens ipoker or your skin come back with "all is well here, must be a problem your end". Yet how often do you see a post here asking if Stars is down? Once a year perhaps. Conclusion: ipoker, or the skin operators, are lying.

Maybe not a sticky, but I've merged the 3 threads.

EDIT, actually merged 3 threads not 2

I had to stop playing on GJP pretty much immediately after they changed to Ipoker.

Constant disconnections, login errors, etc etc etc tech support for ipoker worse than useless and refused to reimburse me for tournamnents I had registered for but never even got the opportunity to sit at the table for a single hand!

Tried it again a few months back reinstalled etc and same issues, as RT says stars, ft (even bloody betfair) never give trouble.

Its not a broadband issue either, I have same issues on wireless in work Eircom 2mb or at home NTL 6mb, or on direct cable modem in work or at home, my old fashioned home phone analogue line fails as well!

Pity, cause I really liked GJP, and would support them before anyone else.

I think a lot of the disconnects are down to bad programming. A lot of people seem to be having packet flow issues with their routers when running iPoker sites. I was with Irish broadband but had no problems with any other site except Full Tilt. On Digiweb and BTIreland I've had zero problems with iPoker except for one disconnect last week but got back in immediately after a reboot.

My main problem with iPoker isn't connection issues but their stringent deposit and withdrawal policies. I hate the way you are only allowed one deposit/withdrawal method at a time and have to get support to change it for you. I want to make a deposit now but can't because live support have not responded after an hour of trying.

I really with i-poker/playtech would invest in solving these problems before they kill the goose that laid the golden egg!

I know several tonight that MSNed me asking if I was down as well... they have all been playing different networks while they waited..... every time thishappens a ew fish wil deposit elsewhere and maybe stay there...... they are getting few enough as it is!

why is iPoker's exchange rate so bad? I just lost 2% of my deposit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 991 ✭✭✭ZZR1100

had an issue last night where after a lag freeze. players started sitting out / leaving on all my tables ( 6 ) until there was only 2 or 3 on each. i was on carlos and had GJP datamining on another computer at the same time which closed all tables (16) with the popup this table has closed for maintenance

I think it's skin-dependent. I usually get a decent rate on GJP/BSQ or at least, I get the same rate cashing in as cashing out.

You're right it is. That's odd.

Cross posted from bb section.. re last nite

really annoyed with ipoker tonite... after tonights shutdown I have had intermittent problems... worst was this one!!

I raise with AsKs and flop comes Qs 7s 5h guy min raises my c bet and I shove for 120bb's... he asked in the chat box AA? or KK? I have AQ he says... and then his timer goes right down and nothing happens for a few secs and I think damn DB prototection.. he going to discionnect... and then nothing at all happens for a few secs...... next think i know I'm back at the table marked sitting out and have no money and he has 600 now....

There is nothing in the hh section.. support have told me I got disconnected and told me how to update the hh which i did and seems he called at the last second!...

dont know how I got disconnected as all my other tables were fine and i never have disconnection probs

Try depositing less and withdrawing more! ;)

Well my first deposit was with my credit card. Once I'd withdrawn what I'd deposited back to the card I still couldn't change my withdrawal/deposit method because I had to zero my account so I ended up withdrawing 3K over what I deposited back to me credit card before I could switch to using neteller. This is a security restriction unique to ipoker and the same for all skins.

Also, which of the datamining tools would ye reccommend? Goldmine is cheaper, but eyepoker has quite a nice table selection tool.
GoldMine uses standard keyboard & mouse handling, just like a human. Eye uses memory reads and such, therefore its much faster and better.

According to the iPoker T&Cs GoldMine is fine but Eye may be in violation. However, nothing has ever been done and its also not clear whether the developers or users of Eye would potentially be in the wrong.

Therefore, currently, Eye is the better choice and GoldMine is the cheaper choice.

However, Gold Mine 2.4 which releases around March (hopefully:) will be the better choice because of a new feature that makes you mine up to four times faster without more effort. That feature will require the "Deluxe" version though, which currently costs $36.99 but will be $49.99 once v2.4 is released.

I'm not quite sure this is the case Jacques? I think eyepoker also uses the chat box to get it's details which is public knowledge? maybe I'm wrong..

I have both gold mine and eyepoker... both are efficient mining tools but eyepoker is far superior IMO....

what we really need is a poker client that will allow us to open more then 16 tables like carlos used to do.... I often datamined 50 tables in these days

Just notice were getting off topic....

I notice a lot of complaints on here regading i-poker connections and the usual reply from support seems to be to blame the user....

I wonder if we put together a log of all our problems and sent it to i-poker for analaysis or maybe through one of the skins if they were interested in doing it? a log of consistant problems to show them that it is a problem....

I heard about Carlos yeah. :) Like I said, GoldMine 2.4 will have a feature that does something else, but the end result will the same. However, I'm swamped in projects so please be patient.

Good idea Macs, perhaps one of the skins will redirect the complaints to Ipoker as we cannot all have connection issues!!
