Have a question for people who are involved or have been involved in boxing..........what do clubs make of people who box out of their gym going down to other gyms and asking to train and spar for some extra training?

For example if I was in club A and they trained mon, wed, fri but i wanted extra training and more sparring would it be ok for me to go to club b on tues, thurs, sat?

Or is something like that frowned upon?

Well its completely up to the boxer and the coaches of each club. A few of our lads use to go to crumlin every sunday morning for spars.......never seen a prob with it........depends on the coach though some might not be into it.

In my experience other boxers are welcome once they dont come up with an attitude which rarely hapens anyway, sparring is a bit more competitive when there from opposing clubs which is great for boxers-if a trainer had a problem with you sparring else where i'd question his own confidence! the only way a club would not be welcoming in my experience is when there already overfull!

ye going to other clubs like crumlin and drimagh which most clubs go too is great sometimes there would be five different gyms meetings for sparring in these clubs which can only be good but it's very tough especially when you turn up from other club at start as they say your the "NEW BLOOD" but it great cause ya get to know the guys aswell most clubs go to different clubs all time.
