First of all will describe the system its a dynacord power mixer with 10 channels and two 400W (i think) EVs they're huge anyway a good 14 or 15"

System us used in a church 3 vocals mics which are spoke into 3 mics used for singing and then other 4 channels are used for instruments.

For the most part the system very good was set up properly but just looking for a few handy things for my computer

Stuff like spectrum anylaisers and things that tell you what frequency a sound is at and other useful apps for PC finding lots through google but if you could thow some names of some decent stuff preferably free

Also thinking of buying and external sound card for my laptop for things like recording prob only one channel from a desk and just for pluggin the laptop into my amp at how nef amp connected to two tannoys.

Also just some links to good info like on recording things or just using desks anything really for begineersish

This is supposed to be a decent free spectrum analyser, I haven't used it though: http://www.rogernicholsdigital.com/inspector.html

Its available as a plug-in only, if you don't have a suitable host I'd recommend Minihost: http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html

For more indispensible free audio software have a look at www.kvraudio.com or check out the stickies at the top of the forum.

An external soundcard (audio interface) sounds like it would be a good idea for your purposes, there are some recommendations in the stickies at the top of the forum.

For general advice for beginners on recording, equipment etc, check out... you guessed it... the stickies at the top of the forum ;)
