just wondering does anyone know of any good website or companies that cater for single people. I hate being ripped off by the single supplement crap, any good deal is based on the usual per person sharing. Im thinking of going somewhere in europe for a short break this month and was looking for any ideas or suggestions for a break without being screwed for money just cause im single, thanks!

Hi there, not sure about the single supplement but I know there are usually good offers available on www.thetraveldepartment.ie

    That's tour operators for you.

Book flights and hotel directly and you'll pay the price per room per night, not per person.

The last time I tried to book a holiday alone as a late booking, I was told that I'd have to wait until the very last minute (almost literally, as I didn't get a booking until 5 hours to departure!!). They really don't like selling singles' holidays as it means they're losing out big time. Every extra person in a room is almost pure profit when you take out the cost of flights.

I have been around a few travel agents in town (Dublin) and online all day. Best I was offered is €390 to Lanzarote for a week. Not great but it was the only decent thing going. All the rest were around the €500 mark.
