    There was Boy Eats Girl

But that was a cheesy Americanised poor attempt at a comedy horror

And Shrooms, again, in Ireland but american leads

Havent seen Dead Bodies so cant comment on that

I think the concept of horror is all very "only happens in America"

Tell that to the Japanese. :D

Seriously though, I think if they got a good story, we could have an excellent Irish horror film.

Just got Dementia 13 on DVD. It's an Irish horror movie from the '60s (directed by FF Coppola!!) and is far better than Boy Eats Girl/Dead Bodies/Dead Meat/Shrooms.

Oops, i meant to add "in Ireland" there

Yeah, a well written script, and noone from Fair City! :p

Theres feckall films in general that show Ireland, they're either down on a farm, or scanger-comedies

And we're pretty creative over here, i think some of the ads comin out lately are class

Imagine havin to hijack the Luas and drive it into town at 200MPH to get to the rescue chopper stoppin at the spire, to escape the city overrun with zombies/monsters/aliens/D4 Heads...

Hopefully the strike in America will allow some to be made

To be honest, the first half of Isolation, wasn't *that* bad. Nice atmosphere, shot well, mostly nice low-key performances.... It was a blatant rip off of alien (except on a farm with cows, natch) and when you actually got a look at the creature it was some cheap, nasty and pretty disappointing cow-snake thing. But a step in the right direction I thought. league's better then Shrooms

Isolation was from a predominantly Irish background while Shrooms had a much more "american" influence. There is no middle ground on that playing field. If Irish filmmakers are to make successful horror films they have to drop sad efforts like Isolation, deadmeat, boy eats girsl, etc. and rebuke the temptation to fall into bed with american carved ****e like shrooms.

For a start the IFB need to wake up and stop playing the 1980s card in Ireland with funding for re-threads of worn out narrative.

i never saw that sheep movie, i really wanted to. We should make a movie about Mutant Cows that mutated from BSE and Bird flu and can now fly and kill by landing on top of people and crushing them to death. Lots of Gore and burgers,.

Hello again. I know that a few here are interested in our progress on our short horror film, "Deadweed". Its nearly finished post production. Below are a few stills from it and a link to the trailer. Its a film that combines various themes from the horror genre such as the supernatural, slasher and ghoul. It will be screened at various festivals this year and on propellor TV. It should be available online by the end of the year.
