Technical Translation/Communication business

    Hey guys.

    I'm abroad and spending a lot of time with the locals. Anyways to the point!

    Friendly with one guy who owns his own business and regularly deals with other companies (a lot of english speaking ones) and basically sometimes can have a hard time deciphering what exactly they are saying to him.

    Basically I got thinking, is there some kind of business model there ?

    What would you define it as ? Translation ?

    Company x (other language + maybe little english) wants to communicate with company y (english). Company x pays company z (translation etc) to "assist" in communication with company y. I'm thinking technical stuff here so although company x may have good english it might need better/native levels to communicate effciently especially when you bring in technical stuff into the equation.

    Basically I'm a IT guy who is teaching english at the minute and I want to stay out here but work at something else. Working in IT (software dev) is probably a no-go since i don't speak the lingo and they have any amount of super smart IT people here already.

    Anyone think this is a viable idea ?

    Anyone perhaps have other ideas how I might use english and my IT knowledge ?
