How much should someone pay for one to one training?

    For what? Drum lessons? :p

Training always depends on the trainer and the subject being taught. You'd pay alot more for training from say a Microsoft MVP then say someone who's only been in the PC business for a couple of months?

And as for the subject - Office training is always going to be cheaper than some SQL training or something?

Basic one to one training on a computer about using a computer, for someone that has not used one before, by someone that has.

Only ever met one... A very sound lad who works for BT training. Could be loads though, the msdn/MCP forums seem pretty full of Irish folks.

Your local secondary/primary school probably runs courses for older people to gain computer skills, they're usually quite cheap. If you want one to one you can probably ask the person that runs the course. Though it will be dearer as the person will probably value their time a bit more for single students. I.e. - 1 teacher 5 students @ €5 for an hour... 1 teacher 1 student €30 for an hour. That would be for very basic computer training I suppose.

    Thanks.

They want to avoid group sessions.

I would also take a look at any libraries near you, they often provide courses for people who want to learn computer basics.
