    Hey
Can someone explain the ruling for me.
In the fourth quarter the redskins kickoff and its recovered by the kickoff team and ran for a TD but it was called back to be a first down on the 25yrdish line?

    I dont get it :p

I think the ruling was that once the ball is recovered by the kicking team it's dead so whatever they do after they recover does not count.

    C'mon Hawks - 4th Q has been a horror show.

Its like an onside kick once the kicking team gets to the ball first the ball is called dead on that spot it was caught and its 1st down to the team that kicked.

    Most likely

    Most likely

Word around DC is that Gibbs will stay for another 2 seasons. He has one more season to go on his contract and he is apparently going to go for two. Thats what the local blogs by reporters on the Washington Post say.

Beaten by 21..... that number again.

Kicking team can't advance their own kickoff.

Moss has a lot to answer for, giving up on that pass. He let Trufant pick it and gave him an easy start on the TD return. Jesus - it's the playoffs... NEVER give up on a play. Just ask Ben Watson. Huge momentum shift. Skins could well have won that game if Moss had kept at it.

Gibbs may not coach again. He was too stuck in the past anyway. He relied on the strategies that made him great in the 80s, without considering that all of his opponents grew up studying those very strategies. I love what he does, but it's easily snuffed out if you know what's coming.

There seemed a bit too much controversy around his calling. Redskins lost quite a few close ones this year due to this. What a fourth quarter that was in that game though. If you were a Redskins fan you'd be pretty hacked off right now that they lost their cool a little, and couldn't capitalise on the breaks they got.

I don't know what Gibbs could have done in that game. Skins came back... Skins missed a FG... Skins threw two pick-sixes.

The only part of that storyline that Gibbs can REALLY affect is the comeback bit, and he did it effectively.

Agreed it wasn't Gibbs fault they lost. It's not an easy place to go anyway. It's probably more a building up from what happened throughout the season. Redskins were probably not even expecting to be in the playoffs a few weeks ago.

No it wasn't Gibbs fault - team came out flat in first half and the second half just didn't go their way but there were some great plays. The missed field goal was a thumper...but hey they weren't expecting to make the playoffs a few weeks ago so getting there was a bonus. I've been a Skins fan for yonks...you take what you can get. Best news is we beat the Cowboys last week of the regular season. Go skins! On to next year... St Joe will be back.
