It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.

Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.

when there's Science to do.

I've experiments to run.

I might have voted for Mass Effect if it was for that utterly crappy music over the end credits...

while i love that portal song, it's the only bit of music from the game that i can remember. perhaps there should be another category for the best end credits song, or best individual song or something like that.

mario galaxy's soundtrack is much more rounded - the tunes are surprisingly good and memorable not to mention the impressive orchestration.

Portal definitely had the single most memorable piece of music this year, but you hear it once and the majority of the game had average music so I wouldn't vote for it.

Folklore got my vote for being wonderful throughout. Pity nobody else has played the game...

Mario Galaxy really deserves this one. Halo 3 soundtrack is only acceptable and never stands out.

I'm with roccie and steviec on this one. I never really noticed the music in Portal until the end credits rolled, it was just background noise up until that magical moment...
Mario Galaxy had the fantastic waltzy music from the hub, and a brilliantly updated selection of classic Mario melodies throughout the game. I'm actually considering buying the soundtrack when it comes out.
Bioshock's score* was very mood setting, as were the licenced songs from the period.
As for Metroid Prime 3... Kenji Yamamoto is one of my most respected musicians, and MP3's soundtrack was no disappointment for me.

Hard to believe that a song about cake is going to steal the show here:(

Metroid Prime 3 probably would have gotten my vote if I hadn't stopped playing it prematurely due to the arrival of Super Mario Galaxy.

As said above, Portal had a fantastic end song, but that was it. I think the music throughout Bioshock was fantastic. The soundtrack was very atmospheric and hearing the music of the era playing in the background of some areas really emphasised the eeriness.

Just started playing metroid prime 3 again today and it definitely deserves more than the zero votes it's getting. It at least has more than 1 track.
