    some results:
    • Overclock to 4005 mhz
    • 3dmark06 - 17490
    • SuperPi Mod - 12.797 seconds (crap)
I have to say the E6850's seem great for overclocking, well worth the money.

  • some serious cooling there :D what type of temps are you getting?

    class setup btw

  • cpu idles @ 40 C but thats @ 1.6 vcore. good enough for me

the gpus idle @ 40 also, overclocked a lot too

  • hope thats not on my board ;)

  • hope thats not on my board ;)

    There's a board under there? :p

So would you recommend the thermalright setup gline?
40 seems pretty low for the 8800's, what did they idle at before?
My 8800GTS idles at 58-62 at stock (factory clocked) so I wonder how much they'd drive down my card.

Whats the fan between the to GT's for, chipset down there or something?

  • yeah what have you got for cooling the chipsets? I can't see any chipset heatsinks.

  • What case is that? looks very small. Cant be helping your temps.

thermalright setup is great and far more quiet.
it is a lot cooler when overclocking
i couldnt even oc my cards much with standard cooling and it sounded like a wind tunnel

That small fan is blowing on the northbridge.

I didnt change the chipset cooling at all. didnt need to, still allows me to get to 4ghz stable. wouldnt get anymore than that even with chipset coolers

the case is this - http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=340800

big enough for me and cheap :)

  • Didnt even know point of veiw made cases

i didnt either until i was browsing around komplett and saw that one :)

tis an ok case, price was the main factor, was worth the money, also takes 120mm fans.

    i got 2x 120mm in and 1x120 out :D

  • hey gline, i'm thinking about throwing a HR-03 plus on my 8800GTX and configuring it the way you have your top 8800GT. One question, the 680i you have in the picture there, does it have the same NB heatsink as the EVGA 680i? If so was there any clearance issue getting it to fit? Did you need to take the fan off the NB heatsink?

Also, where did you get the flexi SLI bridge? It looks like the stock rigid ones won't be compatible if these heatsinks are used.

The NB is the exact same as evga.
It needs a bit of elbow greese and fiddling to fit, basically the fan on the HR-03 isnt centered.
The flexi sli bridge is an asus stock one, maybe ebay has them??
