    Much of a muchness.

Thailand is such a beaten track you could see the footprints from space.

But that's the thing. The track is beaten in parts because of those 2 books you've mentioned.

Both contain more or less the same information. And so every backpacker under the sun stays in the same place as everyone else. I met people in Peru who I met later in Argentina 2 months later. All because of using the same guide book.

The LP is more popular because it is slightly easier to read. The print and all that. But not much difference between the two.

Expect to find crowds in the hostel that seems most appealing to you as you read your guide book.

But you can find real Thailand or Laos or wherever if you physically go off the beaten track.

    Enjoy, nice place.
